Below please find an overview of the team that will be caring for and developing your child.
My name is Dominique, and I have been with Building Blocks since 2006. I hold a Level 2 NVQ in Childcare and Education, a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, and a Level 2 qualification in Team Leading. At work, you will often find me in the physical area building towers out of tumble gym equipment or in the arts and crafts area getting messy with the children, exploring shaving foam and cornflour, and using a variety of coloured paints. I am currently training for my Level 5 in Childcare and Leadership to further extend my knowledge and experience. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting art museums, attending the theatre, and taking care of my nephew.
My name is Miranda, and I joined Building Blocks in March 2020. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, achieved in 2019. I previously worked as a Senior Lead / Primary Key Carer but transitioned to a Secondary Key Carer role in 2024 after becoming a mum to my two sons, Bobby and Blue. I am a hands-on educator who is always happy to support the children and their families. I conduct observations to understand each child’s individual interests and development stage. These insights help me implement activities that foster their growth while following their lead. I particularly enjoy encouraging outdoor play, as I believe it has a significant impact on overall development. In my spare time, I love exploring the outdoors with my children, creating exciting experiences, and teaching them about the world - with this, I make sure to always make sure my boys feel loved and appreciated.
I’m Hussein, I joined Building Blocks in December 2021. I gained my NVQ level 3 Diploma as a Play worker in July 2019 and am looking forward to starting my NVQ level 3 in childcare in September 2022. From May 2011 to starting at Building Blocks I worked as a playworker in a holiday and after school club, working with children aged 4-11 years of age. I have a strong nurturing side, am very empathetic and reflective of my work, am a good listener with a solid understanding of child development and have the ability to teach good habits in an enjoyable way. I believe this shows a willingness to achieve excellence and support children and parents to the best of my ability. I like to share knowledge, experiences and skills. If it affects me, then tell me! I do a lot of reflective practice, so any constructive feedback is appreciated. I'm a keen theatregoer. I average 1-2 visits a month. If I haven't booked anywhere, then I am likely to be plotting to do so. I will travel across London for food! I really enjoy reading about the culture of food and the issues of the day, such as delivery apps and sustainability. I also love watching and reading about American football.

I enjoy working in a professional environment that supports my personal and professional development, which ultimately benefits the children. In my spare time, I truly enjoy spending time with my family, nieces, and nephews. I also enjoy scenic walks and reading nonfiction books.

I enjoy supporting children to grow holistically and develop skills for their future. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, reading, knitting, crocheting, and finding events for my child to attend.
My name is Thaila, and I joined Building Blocks in October 2024. I am a creative, passionate, and caring person who takes pride in my work. I previously worked as an Early Years Educator, caring for children aged 2 - 4 years. I also have experience working in before, after-school, and holiday clubs with children aged 5 - 11 years. My name is Jessica, and I joined Building Blocks in January 2024. I previously worked in a nursery setting for one year as an Early Years Educator, caring for children from babies to pre-school. I am passionate about creating an organised environment where children feel settled and can enjoy activities. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, dancing, and cooking.
My name is Georgia, and I joined Building Blocks in November 2024. I have always wanted to build a career in childcare and believe I have found the perfect place to do so.
I previously worked in retail for two years, developing my customer care skills. My previous experience in childcare was as a Learning Support Assistant in 2 different settings, supporting children in a mainstream nursery (ages 3 to 4 years old). The second setting was a SEN school, working with children aged 3 to 6 years old with various different levels of learning and abilities. I hope to put into practice my skills and share my skills learnt at Building Blocks. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and engaging in creative activities.
